"FGC: Ease of Access" Excerpt
Teagan: Combos are one of the most difficult
things for
people to master or even use to a basic degree.
Voiceover: Most of them require a complex
series of
inputs that someone may or may not be able to perform with their fingers. Another thing
is it’s
very difficult to perform some of the more optimized combo paths while under pressure.
And then
there are infinites…
Teagan: I won’t talk about those but just know
that
they aren’t very common in modern games.

"How to Play Fighting Games, Kinda" Excerpt
Announcer: The first thing you should know is what each button does. We are using
“Street Fighter 6” in this tutorial. Street Fighter 6 is a 6-button game with Classic
controls. It becomes a four-button game with Modern controls. For this tutorial we will
be using Classic controls.
Announcer: In this control scheme, on an xbox
controller, X and A are light attacks, Y and B are medium attacks, and the Right Bumper
and Right Trigger are Heavy attacks. For movement, you can use either the D-pad or the
left analog stick.
Announcer: I recommend that you try learning
basic movement and attack strings.
Announcer: However, one thing you don’t want to
do is be a button masher. You will lose matches this way and it’ll never work if you
want to get better. Additionally, in SF6 there are multiple ways to beat mashing.
